I don't know if people check their stats logs as often as they check their comments but this post is a place to list the IP addresses of the people spamming your stats. Here's a great article about referral spam, why it happens and what to do about it.

referral spam is where someone pretends to visit your site from another site

the idea being that your logs are available to google (etc) and so they get inbound links to their dodgy site, or that you reward them by adding them to your top referrers list on your homepage.
